Kia Targets U.S. EV Market with Affordable Model Launch
Kia announced plans to introduce a more affordable electric vehicle in the United States later this year, aiming to revive demand in a slowing EV market.
At the New York Auto Show, the company revealed that its upcoming EV3 model will be available to U.S. consumers, positioning it as a lower-cost option within its electric lineup.
The move comes as automakers navigate a more challenging environment for electric vehicles following the removal of the federal $7,500 EV tax credit. Despite this setback, rising gasoline prices in recent weeks have renewed consumer interest in EV alternatives.
Kia’s strategy reflects a broader industry push to make electric vehicles more accessible, balancing affordability with growing demand for cleaner transportation.
