Apple Inc. Accelerates AI Gadget Push, Shares Rebound
Apple is reportedly fast-tracking development of three AI-powered consumer devices, signaling a broader push into hardware segments currently dominated by rivals such as Meta Platforms, Snap Inc., and OpenAI.
According to reports, Apple is developing:
An AI wearable pendant – an AirTag-sized device equipped with cameras that can be clipped to clothing.
AI-powered smart glasses (code-named N50) – positioned to compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses and Snap’s Spectacles. Bloomberg reported production could begin as early as December, ahead of a potential public launch next year.
AirPods with cameras and AI features – expanding Apple’s ecosystem with deeper contextual awareness.
All three products are expected to feature enhanced Siri integration and seamless connectivity with the iPhone, reinforcing Apple’s ecosystem strategy.
The reports lifted Apple shares by as much as 4% intraday before closing 3.2% higher at $263.88, marking a recovery after two consecutive losing sessions.
Earlier this week, Apple announced a “special Apple Experience” event scheduled for March 4, where it is widely expected to unveil new lower-cost MacBooks and the iPhone 17e. The company also released iOS 26.4 beta for developers, introducing features such as video podcasts and updated Apple Music playlists, though notable Siri AI upgrades were absent.
Apple shares declined 8% last week amid a broader tech selloff fueled by concerns over AI disruption. Wedbush analysts recently described the pullback as overdone, maintaining that Apple remains on track to introduce next-generation AI features by summer.
While some investors have been frustrated by delays in rolling out advanced AI capabilities already available on rival devices, Apple has drawn praise for projecting only a modest increase in capital expenditures this year — in contrast to heavier spending plans from other Big Tech firms.
Retail sentiment on Stocktwits remained neutral as of early Wednesday.
