Sensex, Nifty Extend Gains In Cautious Trade
ndian shares rose for the sixth straight session on Thursday, though gains were limited ahead of the Federal Reserve’s Jackson Hole meeting from August 21-23, where Chair Jerome Powell will speak.
The BSE Sensex was up 260 points (0.3%) at 82,119, and the NSE Nifty rose 74 points (0.3%) to 25,126.
CICI Bank, Trent, Reliance Industries, Larsen & Toubro, BEL, and Bajaj FinServ gained over 1%.
India Cements jumped 3.2% as UltraTech Cement is selling 20.1 million shares at a floor price of Rs. 368 each.
Clean Science and Technology rose 2% after promoters Ashok Boob and Krishna Boob planned to sell up to 24% stake via block deals.
Bharti Hexacom gained 1% after shareholder approval to sell mobile towers to a sister company for Rs. 1,134 crore.
RailTel climbed 2.2% after getting a Rs. 35 crore work order from Kerala State IT Mission.
Godrej Properties rose 2.4% after agreeing to acquire a 7% stake in Godrej Skyline Developers.
