Boeing Reaches Tentative Labor Deal With SPEEA Technical Workers
Boeing has reached a preliminary labor deal with SPEEA, the union representing about 1,600 technical employees who joined the company following its acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems Holdings Inc. last year.
Under the proposed agreement, workers would receive a one-time $6,000 ratification bonus along with a 20% increase in overall wage funding spread across a 58-month term, SPEEA said in a statement issued Thursday.
The union noted that individual salary adjustments will depend on performance evaluations.
Union members are expected to vote on the agreement on January 30. If ratified, the contract would become effective on February 1.
The agreement applies only to technical staff brought in through the Spirit AeroSystems acquisition. A separate contract covering SPEEA engineers, which represents a much larger group in the Seattle region, is scheduled to expire on October 6.
